6ish months and counting

We now have less than 6 month until Klayton's first anniversary of his birthday.

I guess it’s about time to update.

It seems like so much has happened in the last few weeks that it is hard for me to express it all in words. I feel like a whirlwind.

Well Klayton’s 6 months stats were 19lbs 12 oz, and 27 inches long. I’m sure he is now over 20 since he turned 7 months. He is almost caught up on his shots and seems to be perfect and ahead in almost everything. His 6 month clothing is getting very tight and wears mostly 9-12 months or since the heat wave hit Indiana; nothing at all.

Klayton’s first two teeth finally came in, Tylenol and baby orajel were nice to have when nothing else worked. He has only tried to bite me once while nursing and a very loud yelp and not being allowed to nurse seem to cure that up right away. We will see once his upper teeth break free.

Klayton says ma ma ma ma daily but has only recently said da da ba. He has also figured out that mama is really the only one who has the magic to make everything better and he really doesn’t need or want anyone else. “chu chi is chopped liver” according to Jennie.

He now “high” crawls instead of army crawling and have become quite adept at it. He has also mastered pulling up and cruises the furniture in search of trouble and cords. The first week after he learned to pull up was rough since it took him a few bumps on the head to figure out how to sit down after standing. We think his head must be numb since he doesn’t seem to be phased by falling anymore. We imagine it will be any day when he stands up and runs over to one of us unassisted. We are defiantly in for trouble.

Still no sleep filled nights, he always starts in his crib after an exhausting night-time ordeal of rocking, singing, reading shhhhing; but almost every night wakes up moments before I manage to fall asleep and then finally ends up in bed with me. I am currently reading “The No-Cry Sleep Solution” and “The Attachment Parent Book” hoping it will help us all get some sleep. So far I feel like a failure; which was the exact opposite intention.

Justin has a new job working third shift security, so far so blah. We have heard back from IMPD and according to the letter they had an overwhelming response and are unable to get every applicant in on time; so Justin’s class has been pushed back until early 2009. It was not bad news but not what we had hoped for.

I’ve had several teaching interviews but none have produced any substance. However new development at the library makes me think I might have more time coming my way.

Okay now for pictures, extra because you have all been so patient.
